Vietnam Government has signed visa exemption agreements with ASEAN countries. According to those agreements’ terms, nationals of 2 countries can travel to each other’s territory with no visa requirement. Length of stay is different from country to country as following:

Visa exemption to Phu Quoc island

Phu Quoc Island in Kien Giang Province is considered as Special Economic Zone where Vietnam visa exemption is applied to all nationalities. Foreigners can stay legally up to 30 days as long as these requirements are met:

  • Validity of passport is 6 months at least
  • Not in the list of Interpol’s wanted
  • Have not ever been expelled from Vietnam

30-day visa exemption is also applied to cases of transition through an airport or seaport en-route to Phu Quoc as long as this island is the end destination and return ticket to another country is shown.
